Our team specializes in treating dental alignment issues using the Invisalign® System. Treating patients from our office in Beverly Hills, CA , we help patients from throughout Los Angeles to have beautiful and healthy smiles.
Invisalign® is a state of the art orthodontic treatment that uses a series of customized, clear aligners to gently move teeth into correct placement without using metal wires or brackets. Invisalign® can be used to treat most of the same conditions treated by traditional braces, including overbites, crossbites, and underbites, but there are some alignment and occlusion issues that may be better treated with traditional braces.
Each patient has unique needs when it comes to orthodontic treatment. The doctor creates customized treatment programs and uses specialized mapping tools to order a set of Invisalign® aligners that will gently guide the patient’s teeth to the correct position over 18-24 months. The aligners are made from medical-grade BPA-free plastic which is soft and comfortable when worn. The aligners are worn more or less constantly throughout treatment. Unlike traditional braces, the patient can remove the aligners when eating certain foods and brush and floss the teeth. As the patient continues to wear the aligners, his or her teeth will gradually begin to shift to their correct position in relation the other teeth. The aligners are typically switched out for a new pair every 2 weeks and should in place for at least 20 to 22 hours each day. When taking care of the aligners, the dentist suggests that patients take out their aligner and rinse it with warm water each night. Patients may also wish to brush them with a soft bristle toothbrush.
Invisalign® is made of clear, medical-grade plastic, so the aligners are nearly impossible to see while they're being worn. This is especially beneficial to adults who do not want the appearance of metal braces to interfere with their professional or personal lives. The aligners are smooth, so they don't irritate lips and other soft tissues in the mouth. They are also removable for short periods of time so the patient can easily brush and floss their teeth as well as eat without risk of damage, avoiding some of the dietary restrictions associated with traditional braces. Finally, because each aligner is custom-made for the individual patient, Invisalign® may be able to bring teeth into alignment faster than traditional braces.
